We liked this exercise better than writing. It was nice to be able to use our more creative side on this project. Using this medium helped us discover a more enthusiastic way of presentation/writing a report.
Because it was such a simple concept at first we found it a bit difficult to change our mindsets. After we figured out a direction it became easier, and we completed the process rather quickly. We did enjoy the mapping and actually laughed at ourselves. It also made us wish we could invent our sandal for real life people like ourselves.
It was really helpful to have a partner when tackling a version of powerpoint we have never used before. Since we are familiar with the process of making a powerpoint, it took a lot of thought to recount our actions. It was also difficult to express these actions visually.
Composing is screen compostion was difficult at first because I was not familiar with the settings of Microsoft 2007. Once I became familiar with it, it was much better. Also, the time limit was a little stressful as I struggled to become familiar with how to change the color scheme and how to insert graphics. It do enjoy making slide shows as I think it appeals to my visual learners and it can easily be emailed to the class. Finally, room for creativity is infinite. I love my teacher!
The process today was a living hell! Having to use a power point program that was foreign to both me and my partner was torturous. We felt special, slow, and our confidence was quickly diminishing! This project solidified the notion that we need to make sure our students are given the necessary tools and instruction to complete projects. Do not assume anything!
Our confidence in ourselves was reassured. We ARE perfect! At first the task seemed difficult due to time constraints, however once we started lauding ourselves and making fun of others, we had a blast! This made it eaiser by the minute. It was fun. Don't take our composition personally, we really don't mean to offend (or... maybe we do...) JK LOL ROFL HAHA! The most difficult part was making the poop. We do want a pair of these sandals for ourselves, check our feet tomorrow. WHOOT! from lesliedowers, BOOH-YA from HOUSE. peace out
Because Catina and I both have different strenghts, we were good collaborators. I was comfortable with the creating of the shoe and doing the process maps. Catina had MUCH more knowledge of PowerPoint than myself. We both found the project enjoyable with the addition of creating the powerpoint. It was a way to create in a way other than writing words.
